Minor changes can be found here and there in level design and gameplay for the sake of better playability and to make the game fit the new engine a bit better. The story, voice acting and soundtrack remain the same, however, some new sound effects have been included. The enchanted edition uses Trine 2s updated engine, and includes online multiplayer. As a result the visuals are improved and some new effects have been added as well. A remake of Trine, titled Trine: Enchanted Edition, was released in 2014. Trine Enchanted Edition is a remake of the original Trine using the Trine 2 engine.
